The Best Places To Find Abigail

Stardew Valley: A Complete Guide To Marrying Abigail (3)

As you can see, Abigail moves around quite a lot. If you are still at the beginning of the game (Spring), you can find her inside the General Store most mornings. If you are still working on the introduction quest, you can find her on Spring 4 in the clinic.

The best way to find her is by visiting the Saloon on Fridays. She will be here nearly every Friday, along with a large group of NPCs. This is a great way to speak and give gifts to multiple people at a time.

Gifting to Abigail

Stardew Valley: A Complete Guide To Marrying Abigail (4)

When it comes to Abigail's loves, she is a mixed bag, with some being hard to get, while others can be found pretty early in the game. To marry Abigail, you'll need to earn friendship Hearts with her, so be sure to talk to her every day and give her as many gifts a week as you can!

The Best Gifts To Give

Abigail is a fan of both quartz and amethyst. These are two minerals that can easily be found in the mines. Quartz is quite common, so we recommend saving a few to give to Abigail.

Abigail may even tell you that she was hungry and the quartz looks delicious.

Marrying Abigail

Stardew Valley: A Complete Guide To Marrying Abigail (6)

Once you reach ten Hearts with any partner, Mayor Lewis will tell you about the Mermaid Pendant that you need in order to propose marriage to your partner. He doesn't tell you how to get it, but we will!

It's purchased from the Old Mariner, an NPC who appears on rainy days on the beach. He will be near the tidal pools, so you need to have repaired that bridge with Robin. The Mermaid Pendants costs 5,000g and can only be purchased if you have upgraded your home at least once with Robin.

It does not naturally rain during the Winter. The only way to trigger the Old Mariner's appearance is to use a rain totem.

Your next step is to give the Mermaid Pendant to Abigail! She will happily accept your offer and the date of the wedding will be set for three days after you proposed. If there happens to be an event happening in the Town Square that day, the wedding will be pushed back a day.

After the ceremony is over, you and your spouse spawn on the front steps of your home at 6 a.m. Abigail's special room will be added to the far-right side of your home, and part of the outdoors on your farm will be made into a place where Abigail can play her flute.

Maintaining Marriage Or Choosing Divorce

Stardew Valley: A Complete Guide To Marrying Abigail (9)
(Video) Stardew Valley How to Date, Get Married & Have Children!

Lastly, let's take a look at maintaining your marriage. This is rather simple; just continue to talk with Abigail. After interacting with her a few times in a row, the two of you will kiss. You won't need to give her as many gifts, but she will still gladly accept them.

If Abigail is no longer the one for you, you can file for a divorce. This can be done at Mayor Lewis' house; check out our complete guide to getting a divorce for more information. If you don't want Abigail to harbor any negative feelings towards you, her memory can be wiped with a shrine that unlocks once helping out the Wizard with a quest.
